Enrique Muñoz García was born 1969 in Ancud, Chiloé Island, Chile and lives and works since 1998 in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland.
His studies in arts and his journalistic experience are strongly influenced his aproach to social and political projects. He used photography, video and found pictures to explore the relationship between identity, heritage and displacement. Themes developed through long-term photographic research.
He was awarded in many international photography competitions such as the «Prix de la Photographie Paris», «Grimme Online Award» , «European Newspaper Award» and the «Swiss Photo Award“. His work has been shown at The 56th International Art Exhibition, Biennale di Venezia; Leica Gallery and Photomonth Festival among many others.
Enrique Muñoz García is founder and curator of the public art space Juraplatz and co-founder of the off space Lokal-int. in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland.
