Elaine Constantine

Elaine Constantine is a photographer with a broad range of practice, spanning from fashion imagery and directing commercials and pop videos to documentary projects.

Having completed a City and Guilds course in photography, she worked as a photographic technician in the design department at Salford College of Technology where she later took up a post teaching photography for five years, while freelancing.

In 1992, Constantine became first assistant to Nick Knight for one year until she went freelance in 1993. She worked predominantly for The Face, Arena Homme Plus and Italian and American Vogue.

Constantine's work has featured in a number of exhibitions and she won a prize at the 1998 John Kobal Foundation Portrait Awards.

Constantine has lectured at The Photographer's Gallery, The London School of Printing, and The Royal College of Fashion and was a judge of Channel 4's photographic initiative 'Year One'.
