The Solas Prize is an award for contemporary photography, comprising an individual first prize of $10,000, second prize of $1,000 and third prize of $500. The Winners’ work will be shown in The Solas Awards Exhibition at Gallery of Photography Ireland in December 2015 and simultaneously published in Source with specially-commissioned essays.
In addition, work by Irish photographers, or work made in Ireland, is eligible for the Solas Ireland Awards. Three winners will have their work included in the Solas Awards Exhibition. They will each receive a 3-month Artist’s Residency at Gallery of Photography Ireland and a three person exhibition at Fotohof, Salzburg in 2016 including a travel and production bursary.
Additionally, twenty-five artists will be selected for online exhibition on the Solas website. Everyone submitting will receive a free one-year digital subscription to Source Magazine. The winners will be selected by an international panel of five judges.
